Default Hustings

Why can't someone record the hustings on their mobile phones or camcorders and put them on Youtube? It would be good for everyone.

I agree.

UKIP should do it themselves. It's not hard anymore.

I think we would all agree on that.

I can only assume that because the hustings are members only, putting 'em on Youtube would make it available to all and sundry.

So what? How future leader should be afraid of what the public think of UKIP. Indeed, I would hoe they have no fear in putting their programme in front of a wider public.

Get it on the web ASAP!

In general, I agree it is good to have media access, but I should think that the hustings will have info that shouldn't be shared by all and sundry. If Ski or DCB were asked about strategy and tactics, and that was on Youtube, then you've disarmed them because political opponents will know what to expect.

There has to be Party discipline in certain matters, strategy and tactics especially.

I don't think that sort of thing would ever be discussed in detail at a leadership hustings.

A broad direction, but the fine detail should come later after consultation and research.

Perhaps you're right, I don't know for certain. Why not contact someone and ask if the hustings can be recorded? It will be more than just a video recorder jobby because you need the mics for the candidates and audience. Methinks.

I'm sure the Bournemouth lot will do theirs.

I still think our director of communications should have had this covered, especially with the offer from Peter Adams.

Sadly I feel he probaly realises certain candidates will benefit more than others from some extra coverage. Candiates that don't get the limelight all the time anyway.

DCB I feel would have benefitted from some video, but at the expense of Farage, so that's a big no no.

I think Farage would benefit the most. That's because I came to see how good he is from watching his Youtube and UKIP TV vids. His problem is that he comes across as very loud voiced on things like Question Time, where speaking normally is better. He comes across as preaching a bit, but stood up in front of an audience giving a speech, and I could listen to him for hours.
