These are the 10 questions I have just submitted to DCB. I'll publish the answers on ukiphome when I receive the replies.
1: State funding of political parties. Various polls from the electoral commission and elsewhere show that at least three quarters of the public oppose any extension to state funding of political parties, and yet, the big three parties are supporting this proposal to balance their books. Shouldn’t UKIP fight in the public’s corner and not just oppose any extension of state funding but also pledge to reject any future entitlement to such funds? 2: No Preference, No Prejudice is a simple approach to policy that simply states that no policy proposal will offer any preference for or prejudice against any group of Britons based on their race, religion, sex, sexuality or age. Would you be prepared to adopt a clear NPNP approach to policy? 3: Should UKIP concentrate the majority of its resources building local relevance, with committed local councillors before seeking to win national parliamentary seats? 4: Do you pledge to stay in this leadership contest to the very end? 5: Do you support the proposal, either short-term or long-term not to field parliamentary candidates against better-placed candidates from other parties who are open supporters of the cross-party BetterOffOut campaign? 6: Is it not time to let the BBC compete fully on the world stage as the British Google or AOL and to partially privatise it, using the profits to scrap the licence fee within the UK? 7: What is the single most important contribution you believe a prime minister can make to protect the environment? 8: Do you support the open primary method of candidate selection as a means to allow real diversity to emerge from local communities? 9: Do you think we should incentivise private prisons to offer punishment and rehabilitation by offer financial bonuses directly linked to rates of reoffending? 10: In 20 words, why are you the person to bring real change to UKIP? |
