Default North blasts Bloom

Well, UKIP releases like the "blast" word, so I thought I'd try it.

Richard North, in writing (too much) about the EPP episode, writes
Quote:
That, all along, has been the "grand plan" – to close down the European debate and concentrate on domestic issues. As long as the EPP issue was unresolved, that was not going to happen. The announcement yesterday by the Boy will be treated as "closure" and EU issues will now be even more firmly off-limits.

While this may work in the shorter-term, it is a dangerous tactic. All that will happen is that the debate will be driven underground and out of the Party, where there are plenty of others who are only too willing to pick up disgruntled voters and disillusioned activists.

As well as UKIP, there is also the BNP, which will be making a big push for seats in the next Euro-elections and, after their performance at the local elections, stand some chance of winning their first seat. Their first victory could well be in Yorkshire, where that idle fool, UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom, has virtually single-handedly destroyed the party infrastructure.

What had Mr Bloom done that has so nearly damaged the party? Does Richard North know something about the BNP in Yorkshire that nobody else knows?

Don't know, but I think North believes that he should have been selected as MEP number 1 candidate for that region.

I wouldn't class Bloom as an asset to the party, everything I've ever read and seen about Bloom makes Cameron's opinion of us as "Fruit cakes" seem just about right!

There is indeed no impartiality, whatsoever. I would be very surprised if there was. Peter Troy, a good friend of Dr. North's, stood with him for places on the the Yorkshire MEP list. I believe Peter was Regional Oraniser in those parts.

The national party held an investigation into vote-rigging, (I won't discuss allegations on a public list) and local officials etc. were suspended.

Richard North resigned over the affair, disgusted at the treatment of those in Yorkshire, which is why he talks of bad blood in these parts...
