Default When will Ukip get its head from out of the sand.

We’ve wheeled out our top gun and spent £75000 promoting it only to achieve 8% of the vote on a turnout of 40%!!WHY!!

I am not one of those people that can seek comfort in saying we put Labour into fourth place and the Tories struggled to win, I am only interested in analysing why we did not achieve a better result. (For all you billboard campaigners, didn’t help us did they)

Here’s the record so far

2005 General Election
Failed in all seats, poor results, Majority of deposits lost.

Leadership seeking comfort in our dismal results Said
Quote:
“we have increased our share of the vote”
totally ignoring the fact that we stood far more candidates than we did at the last election.

More comfort words from the Leadership.
Quote:
“We stopped the Tories from winning 27 seats”
Complete lie anyone that looks at the statistics can see this they totally ignore the fact that in some of these seats the Tory vote increased and some the Ukip vote decreased.

Council Elections 2006

Complete failure unless you can count 1 gain and one loss as a success.

Leadership looking for comfort said
Quote:
“we got some seconds and thirds”
Totally Ignoring the fact that the BNP won 16 plus seats and beat us in a lot places we stood.

Bromley By-Election 2006

Top gun stands £75,000 spent = 8% of the vote.

Leadership will say
Quote:
“we knocked labour into 4th and the Tories Majority is down to 600”
Now I don’t give a fig about the results of the Lib/Lab/Con I care about our results and how we are going to improve them.

I wish this party would stop finding comfort in failures and address the issue of why we are not gaining substantial votes, its not hard some of you on here know the British public could not give a stuff about the EU and the sooner the party realises that the better.
We should drop it as our main talking point.

We desperately need re-branding, a name change and a new vision for Britain; we should be harking on about Flat taxes, Direct Democracy, Referendums, Politicians accountable to the people,Crime, health, and education subjects that get at the heart of people.
We shouldn’t mention the EU unless asked, it is a policy like any other we have.
Until we do these things we will always have the reputation as UKIP The right winged anti-European party.

We have wasted two years are we going to carry on wasting the next two?

Ditch Scotland & Wales

Become the "English Independence Party"

With UKIP's resources - this would be a flyer

UKIP Budget £75,000 Bromley & Chislehurst
English Democrats Budget £2,000 Bromley & Chislehurst

UKIP cost per vote = £32.51
English Democrats cost per vote = £ 9.45

============================

Don't kid yourself, this is a resource issue not a message issue

Rember Ipswich - 2001

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipswich...ection%2C_2001

UKIP 276 Votes 0.1% and look at you guys now !

=============================

On a more level playing field in the English Local Elections the English Democrats results were on a par or better then UKIP's

I'm with you B.A. I met a friend today who said "UKIP seem to have lost their way". I feel embarrassed.

Unless we get a new dynamic leader, who is prepared to turn the party round and make it electable, I'm off. I am not wasting my time tramping the streets to get the same MEPs back onto the gravy train.

How about connecting with the youth? Music, clubs, concerts, environmental etc? The youth of today are the voters of tomorrow. UKIP needs to become less like politicians and more like a group of campaigners, each one with a specialist agenda to reach each target group of voters instead of appearing like bland politicians. Politicians put people off.

Maybe I am the only person to think this but could we not talk more about crime ?
At the moment there is some really serious issues with crime eg :-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/g...re/5132370.stm

Quote:
A teenager was shocked when police refused to chase joyriders who had just stolen his moped - because the thieves were not wearing helmets.

Max Foster, 18, called 999 when he saw three youths take his machine in Bath in the early hours of Tuesday.

An officer told him they could not give chase in case the unprotected thieves fell off the bike and sued the police.

Avon and Somerset Police said the safety of both the offenders and the public had to be considered.

'Laughing at police'

But Mr Foster said he was appalled by what he was told by the officers.

"They said: 'If they haven't got a helmet on, we can't pursue them. We can't risk a law suit. We'd get sued if they fell off and hurt themselves,'" said Mr Foster.

"I can't believe it, to tell the truth, because all the bike thieves know that, so that's what they do and they're laughing at the police. They've found a loophole in the law that means they can do exactly what they want."

We must first consider the safety of the public at large, the time of day, number of people around, are there any pedestrians or young children playing nearby?
But Insp Tim House of Avon and Somerset Police defended the decision.

"We must first consider the safety of the public at large, the time of day, number of people around, are there any pedestrians or young children playing nearby?" he said.

"The pursuit police make us consider all those options in sequence and then an officer in the force control room will decide on appropriate action."

Heating engineer Mr Foster, from Coleford in Somerset, was staying with a friend in Bath where he worked, at the time of the theft.

He was woken in the early hours by the sound of its engine and peered out to see the youths riding up and down the street on his £1,200 Gilera moped.

After alerting police, officers arrived just minutes after the trio sped off.

I think a party that changed the law so that people can not sue if they get injured whilst commiting a crime, would appeal to many people. If we have such a policy why isn't it published ? If we don't why not ?

You won't get what you want by voting for Ski,he is part of the Farage fan club, just wait and see how this election pans out,of course,it will be too late then.

Seriously and honestly,Ski will not deliver what we want, which is change,he is for Wales and Farage and not UKIP,a British Political Party.

I still would like to wish you good luck though in your quest for a Leader of change within UKIP.(One who is not tied to the incumbent same ol' same ol') .

I have not met Ski, I have seen him on youtube etc. However he has recently greatly impressed my senior members, with his vision, ideas and creativity. On these recommendations alone, he will also get my full support and recommendation.

Could you say what his vision, ideas and creativity encompass exactly,or were you just speaking from your first fleeting impression of him?

Are you aware that some see him as a Farage Leadership plant?
