There is/was no Kilroy episode on Thursday. The reference is to the by-election on Thursday. A comma after the word episode would have helped here.
Now we know that UKIP came third, beating Labour and Nigel retaining his deposit, I think whatever ghosts there ever were concerning the Kilroy episode, have now melted in the Bromley sunshine...
