All this is great stuff - and this is how it must be sold to Joe Public - with a costed budget on how the 0% increase would be achieved!

We would not cut services. We can use the £17 million savings the Lib Dems have made to go towards other services. If the Lib Dems are making these savings there really is no need to increase council tax.
Also with our policy of fighting to have more of the business rates return from central government we ccould use this money to improve services.

Your reps in Southampton have really annoyed the local Tories.
I attended a Tory summer party in a neighbouring area yesterday and alot of Southampton tories in attendance where talking about the aggresiveness of some of UKIP Southampton.

The 'savings' are part of the Gershwin Government imposed savings - all Councils must cut back on expenditure - while increasing the services they offer! The £17 million in savings can't be spent elsewhere! The Government will impose cuts in budgets if they faile to cut back and make these savings!

And for savings talk about 'cuts'

Ok thanks for that BB.
We would then rely on the increase from business rates coming back into the council if we were successful in doing this.

Every time the LibDems talk about 'savings' attack them and accuse them of cutting services!

Get a copy of this years budget and last years budget - work out which services they are draining resources from!

Ask for a copy of the CPA performance report - see where council services are getting better or worse.
