UKIP is looking more and more like amateur hour at the local Church Hall .
The Business Meeting has been cancelled allegedly because of objections to its proposed venue .It has been moved onto the agenda for the Conference at Telford in October. Presumably this will give more time to sort out the accounts ! |

Dear Member
Because of auditing delays and other problems the Party's business meeting, which had been scheduled for July 8, has been cancelled. The business meeting will now take place as a special session of the party's national conference at Telford on October 7-8, 2006. This particular part of the conference will be closed to press and non-members. The agenda for the business meeting section will include reports from party officers (chairman, treasurer and party secretary) and presentation of the annual accounts. It will also include election of the disciplinary committee panel. Applications to be a member of the disciplinary committee panel should be sent in writing to the Party Secretary c/o Head Office. As it stands, the language leaves open the possibility of the business meeting being heavily managed. Very top down. And - what "other problems" could justify such a long postponement? No - please - don't tell us. |

Can I suggest that anyone seeking to become a member of the Disciplinary Panel should get their application in now. The last time applications were openly canvassed, I wrote to Head Office four times and never even received a single acknowledgement. I have the feeling I may have been over-qualified.

Who is on the disciplinary panel at the moment?[/quote] Answer: The same people as before. No one has stood down so they are still eligable to serve until there is a newly elected disciplinary panel. N.B. Petrina seems to be unecessarily billious about it all. I wonder why? She was in charge last time. -------------- The situation is quite simple. The business meeting has been delayed yet again because there are delays involving the auditing of the party accounts. The NEC was informed they are not likely to be audited until after August. The party finances cannot be presented to the members until the accounts are audited. Therefore the business meeting cannot be presented until the accounts are audited; therefore it has been postponed until after August. It became obvious to place it at the conference (as it used to be initially) for this session only. All very unfortunate but unavoidable. Anyone wanting to put forward a nomination for the disciplinary committee can send it to me or to party headquarters at Lexdrum House. Douglas. |
