Hi Douglas

What are the "other problems" mentioned in the announcement that have contributed to this delay?

The NEC was informed they are not likely to be audited until after August.

The party finances cannot be presented to the members until the accounts are audited.

Therefore the business meeting cannot be presented until the accounts are audited; therefore it has been postponed until after August.
Douglas - the processing of the annual accounts is a bit like Christmas - it comes round every year without fail and at the same time every year. I am a director of a charity and our annual return and audited accounts MUST happen on time - it's a given, our AGM has to take place plus or minus 6 working weeks every year and companies house, the charities commision and our membership would have our ass if we dare to be late.

Surely the electoral commision has rules regarding these things?

IMHO, the only way I can see that UKIP has got round this is to have gone to the electoral commision and asked for a delay - in which case the question becomes "What reasons did you state to the electoral commision in order to broker such?"

Correct. Also C-Steam is correct.
The delays are mutifarious; including and not the least being difficulties in getting returns from all the accounting units of the different branches in time. If they simply do not return accounts in spite of repeated phone calls, e-mails, letters and desperate calls from the regional organisers we are in trouble. Then there is the auditing by an independent authority. It takes a month apparently.

There is nothing sinister about it. We have just had a bad year for all this.

The business meeting is utterly dependent on the accounts being dealt with first.

Douglas.

You are welcome. I receive some stick for it I might point out, but feel information to the membership is paramount. They can always sack me if they want.

Since the last business meet. The names have been posted previously, including mine and Peter Baker - I'm in FDR and don't have the rest to hand, but a trawl of this site's archives should produce the goods...

Obviously I am not making myself clear.
Let me put the question another way:
What are the names of the people who are currently on the disciplinary committe please?
