Default Resignation of a decent and honourable man

I must inform you that Geoffrey Kingscott has handed in his resignation from the party.

Quote:
Today is May 31st. I therefore give three months' notice of my resignation from that non-job called 'General Secretary'. On August 31 I shall give you briefing notes on all matters in progress. If I can be relieved of the post earlier than that date I shall gladly quit it, co-operating to the full with the same full briefing. I never received any formal letter of appointment or contract, so the three months' notice is voluntary on my part. During that time I shall assiduously carry out my duties.
At this stage I will NOT post the remainder of the correspondance between the individuals concerned - perhaps there is time for this awful situation to be sorted? But perhaps Geoffrey, standing for honesty, decency and probity has always been a thorn in the side of the leadership and so, in a sense for both sides, is better off out.

Thanks Geoff, and best wishes.

Another hammerblow to the future of UKIP.

The good guys are always driven out. Why is that?

It seems that the much used slogan, "Better Off Out", is starting to come back and haunt UKIP?

From what I have read about GK on this forum, it sounds as if UKIP is about to lose its foundation stone.

Can't everyone else involved resign and GK stay?

This was the reply I got.

Thank you for your email. There is no such thing as UKIP Forum. I understand there is some sort of discussion board to which some members of UKIP and a number of BNP members contribute but is has absolutely no connection with UKIP.

Geoffrey has not spoken to Roger or me about resigning and I last spoke to him yesterday and had a perfectly normal and happy conversation with him.

Best wishes

Piers

Oh good, so that's all right then? :?

Geoff, we need you. Would you stay if there was a decent leader?

Another disapointing fob off from Piers, combined with a sly dig at the forum.

They don't want us here anymore people, ambition for the party is bad, UKIP isn't supposed to go on to better things.

We all have an option.

Either give in and go and try and make it work elsewhere OR

Stick it out and purge the poison that has constantly held this party back over the years.

This leadership contest is utterly do or die for UKIP. If the same old faces maintain the supressive control of the party, then it is game over.

Strange that all of us here, are not really here at all because we do not exist according to our Leader.

I wonder if we will still not be here when our beloved MEPs want to take their seats on the gravy train again :?:

I bet they will want to resurrect us in time to give out leaflets, put up posters, shove leaflets through doors, give generously (both time and money).

This will come back to haunt them

This seems a harmless remark to me. We know the domain name was changed to remove any suggestion of a connection with UKIP (something I'd argued for here), and Piers is only factually stating the official position.
