Thanks again.

Perhaps this thread should become a permanent feature.

No rush with this, but is there any reason why completed applications for the position of leader should not be notified here as and when they are received?

No reason other than left hand not knowing what the right is doing etc .. all the usual problems ....
And that this is not an 'official' forum for UKIP...

The three largest parties allow such things to be announced on the News. As the fourth largest shouldn't we be adopting these habits. This forum is the nearest we get to the News.

I agree it is all useful, but unless I do it (occasionally) no one else will. Most in UKIP higherarchy are all frightened to death of saying anything on this forum cos they know they will get their heads bitten off. It is not best flavour of the month to some.
I think Geoffrey Kingscott should be allowed to post general news items on this forum. I will try to suggest it is done.

I think all these congratulations to our Party Secretary for keeping us informed are all missing the point. The underlying issue here is the state of UKIP's finances which I'm led to believe need a lot of work. Individual UKIP forum members should make it their business to find out the background to all this and be determined in their efforts to establish the facts. If what I know is all true then this matter is serious.

Good point, Niall.

It seems all roads lead to Ashford. See Ashford Call Centre thread: http://www.democracyforum.co.uk/about10877.html

The first news item being his resignation, perhaps?

Interesting observation :!:

I take your point about the costs of servicing however many new members Ashford recruited. Maybe that's the bit that wasn't Ashford's fault.

For the rest, Intbel's numbers - and they are big - seem to me to raise more questions than they answer.

I've posted some questions on his Ashford thread.
