But presumably you want the votes of the 1.2 million Conservatives who voted UKIP in the last EU Election? Of course, you may not want those votes - in which case, if those Conservative votes are lost and UKIP has to rely on the votes of Labour and Campbell's Fib Dims in the next EU Election (2009) the party (UKIP) would probably fall to about 2 seats (not the original 12 EU seats won by UKIP in June 2004).
As for Tories (Conservatives) in UKIP. There are people in UKIP who were once voters or supporters of the Conservative Party. Their party is now UKIP and their loyalty with UKIP. I'm sure it's the same in the Green Party. There must be quite a few ex-Labour and ex-Liberal 'Democrat' people now Green Party members (I know of one former anti-EU Conservative who is now a Green Party member). But I'm sure the Green Party are not going to ask them to leave the party. If it did their membership numbers would fall by at least 75%. |
