It's not really Mark's fault is it. The press office is rudderless like the rest of the party. The problem is that UKIP has no political leadership - or any politicians in the leading group as far as I can see. No ideas, no vision, no interest. That's the problem.
Can anyone tell me what has been the point of the last 2 years of Roger Knapman's leadership? What has been achieved? Did Roger ever tell us that he was going to sit on his backside in Brusells for 2 years once we got 10 MEPs elected? What exactly is the point of a fixed 4 year term for the UKIP leader? Why haven't the NEC moved to get rid of it? Why didn't Roger stand down after the election failure in 2005? Is the NEC satisfied with the progress over the last 2 years? This may be an organisational issue but it is absolutely key when the man we thought was UKIP's leading and most experienced politician turns out to have no interest or passion for the subject. I think it tells us a great deal about the Tory party and how it got into the mess it did. |

Given we have 10 MEPs (or whatever the number is today) and associated paid staff I think the output is **** poor.
We know the 'parliament' is a sham so why so much time spent there? Even if they have to show up to get their gravy from the train there is nothing to say they have to take part, in these modern times they can surely be as effective there as here. Have I missed something? |

The potential impact is not geographically dependent. I worry they have become to engrossed in the machinations of the beast, not that I think they have 'gone native' in the strictest sense. |

Yawn - 'scuse me been asleep.
Woken up by Gordon Brown - he is telling national governments not to indulge in economic patriotism - something to do with trying to protect themselves against the effects of globalisation, damaging the single market Eeeaaarrhhh - sorry - so difficult trying to stay awake waiting for UKIP to say something they are supposed to be an anti-EU party if anything ........ need to point out economic patriotism defines the EU ....... exactly what all the trade regulations are about ....... erecting trade barriers unless you hand over power to govern yourself......... single market is fundamentally protectionist because it prevents outsiders trading freely... if they can be bothered ......you know bans on clothing and shoe imports etc of recent memory.. .. Peter Mandelson Protectionist Commissioner in Chief ...... lots of examples....easy to make a case against EU/New Labour/Tories/Gordon Brown on this ..... globalisation means EU out of date ............ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
