John Page is just starting out
Default What will our next leader look like to the outside world?

The image a party leader projects to the outside world is important - see The Business today.

When we look at the candidates eventually, we must think, What will the public make of them as people?

That's right.
Whoever our new leader will be, it will be a real person, not a party clone specifically created to fit the needs of marketeers.

Default No trust

According to the YouGov poll in the Daily Telegraph edition of 22.5.2006 just 20% of respondents trust ministers in the Liebour (Labour) Government (down 5%), 19% trusted leading Conservative politicians (down 1%) and only 25% trusted leading Fiberal Dim (Lib 'Dem') politicians (down 11%). For comparison, doctors topped the poll on 89%.
