It would be useful to have a leader that leads. Richard Suchozewski is looking a very good prospect about now.

Presonally, I cannot think of ayone in the party at present who would fit that bill.
I think that we would have to look outside the party membership for a charasmatic figure who is well known. I have no suggestions.
How many such characters do you know who would apply for a position
where you are unsure of any financial reward, expenses, any staff, an office, or party car :?: :?:
Perhaps they could send someone from the employment exchange or what ever name they call it these days

I agree re Richard Suchozewski. I understand he has done great things in Wales, if he can do the same in the rest of the country, that will do for me.

 Sorry, Alex, but the maths doesn't add up.
Many of these will have bought five-year memberships, a while back, ahead of the EU elections, so will probably be paying nowt last year, this, or next...

"Saying No" costs...

For members recruited/renewed through Ashford have been reported as UKIP only receiving less than 50p per member, after commission and office overheads had been paid :?: :?: :!:

I note on the most recent declaration to the Electoral Commission that UKIP declared nil donations in the last 3 months?

UKIP should also be asking wether electronic versions of the newsletter should be sent to members who ask - thus saving money?

The BNP have no trouble printing their own newspaper and magazine.

We should copy the BNPs FLAG newspaper - this is a very handy propaganda tool.

It is a joke that the newsletter costs so much - are we getting the cheapest quote? Should it be reduced in page numbers - printed in fewer colours (Look at the Right Now! magazine for an example) Perhaps a colour cover and balck and white photos throughout?

If UKIP can't even manage its own finances - how can it be considered seriously to run the economy of Britain?

You want to take this to the Ashford thread and discuss it sensibly?

It should take a couple of months to make the party look more professional. Then donations are more likely to flow.

A new leader soliciting donations for the present set-up would undermine their credibility.

I'm not suggesting a leader should be soliciting donations - rather a leader who, by their very presence, would enable fundraisers to become more successful.

It would also be useful if the leader had contacts in the media and was able to handle the media while being able to speak coherently, knowledgebly and confidently at public meetings, on radio and television.

Such a person would attract new members and support I think.

First you have to look credible and worth backing.

Then donations and members follow.

Then you have to make sure the money doesn't corrupt, like it usualy does.
