Default NEC Proposal: Publication of NEC Minutes in Independence

NEC Proposal submitted 12th March by Anthony Butcher:

PROBLEM
The NEC elections revealed that members are voting in the dark for the NEC elections. They have no idea what the NEC does, what the issues are, who is on the NEC, how people have voted, who is contributing and who is being obstructionist. In other words, members have no way of judging the performance of their elected officials.

Members frequently complain that nothing seems to happen within the party, and aren’t aware of the existing projects.

PROPOSAL
All NEC minutes and voting records should be published in the Independence.

ISSUES
Obviously issues that are labelled as confidential cannot be included.

Some members may find the working of the NEC to be uninspiring, but this may be outweighed by the bonus of having such information available to those who are interested.

I believe it would be a great boon to the party for the members to be kept appraised of what the NEC is doing.
