While I disagree with a lot of the comments, I don't think they have been overly abusive, just stating their personal opinions.

Like it or not, this sort of think WILL be relevent to a lot of people, when they come to vote.

That may be totally unfair, but such is life.

This is not what the topic is meant to be about, people are not questioning Niki about how she would lead the party they are going OFF TOPIC.

They are questioning whether she can win, which is totally on topic.

I agree the thread needs to move on now, but it's all relevant. Nikki can choose to answer or not, it's up to her. I'm not censoring it, because you don't think it matters.

You are not and you have my 100% support.
I think Matt is wrong on this issue.

Moan to someone else, I'm not moderating anymore.

I don't see the point anymore. I hope you get someone else who will clamp down on areas where you disagree more than I would.

The analogy is completely wrong Niki is doing nothing morally wrong like the man in you argument she is a gay so what, if she was living with one woman and seeing another behind her back the analogy might be right.

Mike we are living in the 21st century a persons sexuality does not come into it, if people don’t like the fact that she is gay don’t vote for her but please stop this incessant attack on the person.
I am simply pointing out the fact that many will consider it relevant; I don't see how that's a 'personal attack', since I am making a general point in oppositon to your own reiterated view that nobody cares about such things nowadays.

Dream on.

I see she has answered to say that she was never in any left wing party so I apologise for that. I'm sure I read that somewhere so it seems people are spreading all manner of things around.

I have nothing personal against Nikki Sinclaire. I have never met her or even spoken to her but I don't get positive vibes here.

This tread has been distracted away from my earlier post:

I understand your concern, but I find it difficult to believe that Nikki does not know she has no hope of winning against Petrina unless Petrina has some hidden, dreadfully dark, secret and she does not seem the type who would stand if she had.

I acknowledge this is based on prejudice against Nikki’s sexuality - not mine particularly - but the membership’s who are generally fairly conservative. Even if Nikki was seen as a much better potential leader, which is clearly not the case, she would be unlikely to win.

This was demonstrated with Simon Hughes who was undoubtedly a better candidate for the leadership of the Lib/Dems - if only on age, but that party knew his leadership, as a homosexual, would lose them a significant number of votes.

It seems almost certain to me that Nikki has been put up to this by the ruling cabal [I hope with her full knowledge and not by cruel manipulation] as a way to avoid Petrina, as the only candidate, becoming leader in waiting as soon as the closing date for entry has past. This, or someone who might be able to damage Petrina in the short-term, through muck raking, so that the approved cabal candidate [who they do not believe could beat Petrina at the moment] can step in at the very last moment and win the day.
My purpose in making the point that Nikki is very unlikely to win because of her sexuality was not to criticize her, but to anticipate the ruling cabals purpose in encouraging her to stand.
