If you really believe that, Tom, you are 'away with the fairies' in more ways than one.

Unfortunately for your credibility the belief that such activities are looked on with favour is restricted to the metropolitan PC ghetto in which you reside.

As UKIP broadens its appeal to the silent majority the keynotes of our campaigning must certainly include 'Family', 'Faith' and 'Moral Values'

Of course those who fall short of such high standards may have a place as loyal footsoldiers, but NOT as party leader.

I know you have been busy, Mike - so you may have missed the numerous statements recently from Campbell-Bannerman and Farage to the effect that UKIP is now a libertarian party. As such, I presume that it defends the right of all individuals to pursue happiness in whatever ways they see best, so long as they don't harm others in the process.

Of course, libertarianism is completely compatible with 'Family', 'Faith' and 'Moral Values', but to rule anybody out as a potential party leader simply because they didn't follow your own personal vision of family life or your own religiously-based ethics would in my view go against the spirit of libertarianism.

Indeed Tom. Sadly it's a 4-letter word called work. I'd be mildly interested to read these proclamations, but you must remember that despite the many merits of Messrs. Campbell-Bannerman and Farage (both ex-Tories like me) the spirit of a democratic party cannot be determined by decree.

It many ways there's no problem with libertarianism because it guarantees the right of all of us to express our own views, untramelled by the constraints of Political Correctness. To that extent we are all libertarians.

But libertarianism is not enough for those who have a patriotic vision for our beloved country. Of course we must be be tolerant and forgiving towards those who are unable to meet the highest standards of moral conduct, but we cannot possibly put such people on a pedestal. They can serve the cause in other ways.

Unless UKIP distinguishes itself from other parties by a rigorous application of family-based values it will indeed be no better than any of them.

The only words I don't agree with are" well-heeled" It means we can only elect the best of the rich, not just the best!
I disagree. Sexuality makes no difference and matters not a jot if the person is capable of doing the job. If a person's sexuality is not a problem for the person, why the hell should it be a problem for anyone else? Beats me ...

Nikki - take no notice of folks who would discriminate for no valid reason - go for it ......

Nobody's stopping her from standing and if you want the public face of UKIP to look like a cross between Little Britain, the Addams Family and Plan Nine from Outer Space you'd better go for it too.

There's an added bonus for you in that if Ms. Sinclaire were elected my resignation would be in the post the same day.

Sadly I wouldn't have an orgasm at the prospect if I were you. A three-headed leprechaun from Bangladesh would be more likely to top the poll.

That would be a much better world. Little Britain is slightymore hilarious than you Mike, ADDams Family, I would like to live next door to the Addams family, much better than having you as neighbour Mike Smith, and plan nine from outer space well horror flicks were better when they used granny's saucers and grandaddy's hubcaps, dangling from string for spaceships, you are a real horror though mike, you can sue me if you like.

You want to make some easy money Anthony Butcher, wait for Smith to demand my ip then you demand 10 grand that is the usual fee for an ip mike pays when he wants to sue someone.

We can split the money 50/50, what do you say?

Good to see that Nikki's campaign is already attracting well-balanced, moderate support.
