Default Give me your questions

Please use this thread to ask questions (and NOTHING else), so that I can compile them into a format that can be sent to all of the leadership candidates in June.

These are some collected from the other thread on this topic:

1) Do you want us to be a one issue party ?
2) How will you develop new policies ?
3) Do you think that we talk enough about education, crime and the NHS ?
If not how we you change this ?
4) Will we target more ? Eg learn from Respect, the Greens and Lib Dems ?
5) Will we make public statements about things in the news more eg
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/w...re/4946644.stm
6) If we are accused of racism will you challenge the accuser to libel specific members of the leadership so he/she can be sued ?
7) Will you consult the membership more over policy ?
How will you get UKIP mps in Parliament ?
9) Do you think that the other parties will ever take us out of the EU ?

10. Will you try attracting disgruntled Labour voters as well as Tory? And if so, how?
11. How will you try and get opinion formers onside. UKIP should be approaching people like Richard Littlejohn, Peter Hitchens et al, even asking them out for lunch.
12. How do you intend to approach the issue of immigration and at the same time put clear black water between UKIP and the BNP?
13. Will you try to stand as many MPs as possible in 2010 or just target seats?
14. If the latter, when are you going to start the campaign, because there's no time to waste.

15. In your bid to dismiss the 'far right' tag would you use positive discrimination to give the likes of Delroy Young a prominant role within the party?
16. Do you believe the party should be distinctive in it's own right or is it necessary to keep trying to nibble away at the Tory vote?
17. Should UKIP take one side of the animal rights debate or avoid it alltogether?

18. Do you think you should seek reassurance for your leadership on a yearly basis i.e vote of confidence from the NEC, show of hands at conference.

19. would you ever consider changing the name of the party.

20. Do you think that Ukip needs re-branding as a broad base party.

21. Would you consider playing down the EU message at local and general elections.

22. How would you hold the MPs accountable to the party.

23. Do you think some resource should be used in training candidates.

Perhaps playing down the EU message is the wrong term how about :- "talking about issues a lot more ".

can the party/ branches be more transparent with regard to finance

all the above in order to prevent sleeze allegations if we have this many problems now what are we going to be like if we ever form a cabinet

28) Do you support tax breaks or subsidies for private medical insurance?

29) Do you support a local sales tax?

30) Do you support expanding the current road building program?

Default A UKIP member should know that...

[quote="Hereward the Wake"]28)

29) Do you support a local sales tax?

The Treaty of Accession requires member states to enact the EU's complex VAT legislation and not have any other sales or turnover tax.

Whilst I am posting, the EU also has competance over all tariffs with all proceeds going to the EU. As the UK is a major importer and trading nation (partly because we do not make much nowdays), this is another (albeit second order) reason why we should leave the EU.

will you give a clear indication of which eu dictats you will scrap, some idea of policy for reviewing and reviewing others

a commitment to an opinion on every issue even if in some cases it is just a holding statement

What is your vision for UKIP? (The present régime is conspicuously vision free.)

What is your action plan to achieve it?
