Even the Conservatives’ poor showing in Woking — at odds with their winning ways across the rest of Surrey, the south east and London — could not match Labour’s disastrous evening.
Only in Maybury and Sheerwater, where the party came second, did it poll more than 200 votes in any ward and seven Labour candidates polled fewer than 100 votes. The 896 votes the party recorded in Maybury and Sheerwater compares with 1,167 votes achieved in the rest of the borough put together.
No mention of UKIP or the fact we whupped Labour in most of the seats we fought. No bias here, honest.

Default Press bias against UKIP and other sovereigntists

I wonder who owns the Woking News and Mail. Some of these 'papers are owned by one or two newspaper groups loyal to Labour. They might not admit it openly - but such groups may have a policy of portraying UKIP and or other anti-EU people in a negative 'light'. Or of ignoring them altogether - except at election time when they've got to mention the name of the UKIP candidate in accordance with electoral law.

I reckon some of these newspapers are being 'got at' by europhiles. The EU Commission has people in its London office working on relations with the press. Maybe a few nice lunches courtesy of EU officials (paid for by us via taxes to the EU) for certain local and 'regional' newspaper editors ands who knows - perhaps the editors' euroscepticism might then gently fade away  .

The Guardian group owns a lot of the local papers.

I think you'l find the law you refer to only applies to publicly funded broadcasters. Newspapers have no requirement to be fair or impartial provided they remain within the laws of libel. A Newspaper Editor will always follow the newspaper owner's editorial policy of they don't stay editor for long....lol......Independent TV News is likewise not required to be fair or balanced.

The ONLY TV Network required to be fair and balanced is the BBC and their coverage is calculated to the second using precise formulae. This is why UKIP gets so little coverage because Westminster matters include the number of MP's in the formulae, hence any calculation with zero as one of the terms will akways result in zero aas the answer.

This is why it is vital to get enough candidates standing in 2007 to reach the trigger point for a Party Election Braodcast. Once the minimum nuber is reached it becomes our RIGHT to have one.

but no newspaper will never support UKIP until the newspaper owner instructs the Editor to do so......
