Default UKIP campaign bus features on BBC 1 national news

UKIP have just featured in a report on the BBC 1 Television 10 pm news (at 10.23 pm).

Biased pro-EU reporter Mark Mardell said "The plan of the EU now is a new declaration (on the EU Constitution) in 2007; a review of how the EU works in 2008 and a new EU Constitution by or in 2009."

Mardell was then shown visiting the 12th floor of the EU Commission headquarters and entering the luxury office of the President of the EU Commission, Barroso.

Barroso whined "It's unfair when we (the EU) get criticised by the national (Governments of the) member states. It is unfair. I can't do all this on my own."

The blue double-decker UKIP campaigning bus which is to tour europe (following EU Commissioners on their journey around the continent to promote the EU which pays their salaries) was then shown.

Nigel Farage (leader of the UKIP group in Brussels) was shown on the BBC report (about how the EU is trying to 'save' the EU Constitution) sitting on the top of the open top bus (as it went around the streets of Brussels) saying "The document the French voted No to is dead (in the EU Constitution referendum of 29.5.2005). But it is coming back through the back door. This is what we are against."

Mardell claimed that Nigel Farage had accepted that the UK veto on law and order was going to be got rid of. He (Mardell) then sarcastically concluded his report by referring to the UK campaigning bus and stating "Expect more gimmicks like this."

I saw it and thought it did us more good than harm! Nigel again proved he is very good in front of a camera!

I agree Kernow. Always a pleasure to see Nigel on the telly. But I don't like that BBC reporter Mardell at all. I've always been convinced that Mardell is not on 'our side' .

I heard on the grapevine that Mardell is broadly onside . He can`t appear to be too keen on us or he`ll get his wrist slapped.

I used to see his reports on "the politics show" after QT. I think he's broadly sound...

I was heartened by the fact that the BBC gave us a mention, they could easily have ignored us!

Default Mardell

To be fair to Mardell, ever since we told him about the bus he has been wanting to use it in a report, Barroso's statement gave him the opportunity.

If Mardel is so keen on the UKIP bus, what about the EU gravytrain?

It must be an amazing bubble to work in gawain! I don't envy you one bit. I think i would slit my throat after just one week.

Mardell has done a very good job at injecting a eurosceptic note into reports about the EU from the BBC - he can't be too blatant or he would be silenced.
