Default Local Elections

I stood to be a local councillor in the All Saints ward in Cheltenham and I was just wondering how many other UKIP candidates had visits from their local UKIP MEPs in support of their candidacy?

We in the NE have no MEPs unfortunately, to support us.

Its mainly one way traffic when it comes to support in UKIP.

The incumbents get the support of everyone just about but ukip fall down badly when the troops need to be backed up by their Officers.

How I wish we had loyalty from those in the upper reaches of the Party instead of their constant ignoring of us all.

They are so good at admiring their own images that they forget to look around them and see the thousands of ukip troops waiting to be led by them.

Damned arrogant fools most of them anyway.

Default MEP's (UKIP) - where were they?

I've been asking this question at least twice a week on the forum for weeks, Niall.

If each UKIP had visited and canvassed for each of the UKIP local council candidates standing in his own euro-constituency the local council UKIP candidates would have each got more votes for sure.

Gerard Batten (as mentioned by MKP earlier in this thread) did give help to UKIP local council candidates last month. But where were the other 9 UKIP MEP's?

I bet those 9 MEP's will be expecting UKIP local council candidates to help them in 2009 -when they seek re-election to the EU 'Parliament'.

.
I did make a formal appeal to this effect two weeks before the election date when I saw that nothing appeared to be happening. Nothing changed unfortunately.

Hello everyone.

Seven of us stood for wards in my part of the West Midlands and there was no sign of any MEP support for us

Did you ask for anyone to visit? (Just a question, not a criticism)

We had none in Southampton but that would be because we never asked. If you dont ask you dont get. Nigel and his staff in the south east office are always very supportive and im sure if we had requested a vist from Nigel they would have done everything possible to ensure it happened

Fair point but wouldn't it be nice to be approached by the professional paid UKIP MEP's to help us unpaid VOLUNTARY workers!

Absolutely, and I made a recommendation to this effect during the election period.
