A bit like forcing people to go to the opera
I went to the opera once. Didn't reckon much to it - couldnt hear the words for some fat tart singing.

I didn't enjoy my last trip to the theatre either - it was supposed to be an 'improvisation piece' and I swear the beggars woz making it up as they went along.

Default 80%

Anthony,

The 80% figure is extropolated from a figure produced by the German Justice Ministry in Aprilof last year in response to a parliamentary Question raised by a Bavarian member of the German Federal Parliament - Johannes Singhammer.
We use this figure because HMG have decided in their wisdom that it would be impossible for them to research the question. Lord Pearson has asked, ad nauseum, questions relating to this.

However if the German Justice Ministry are happy to give a figure thne it is reasonable to utilisethis figure in our arguements. According to them out of 23,167 legislative acts passed since 1998, nearly 19,000 originated in the EU.

Thank you. Do we have something concrete that we can reproduce on the website to prove it though? If I tell people 80% I want to be able to back it up without it being a debatable point.

I thought that the British Government's own report stated 50%, which sounds likea more believable number to me.
