Default cheap suggestions

i joined the party 3 weeks ago i paid my subscription and i have had a meeting with my regional organiser
I have had no contact from head office at all now this is not a big problem for me, i am big and ugly enough to take care of myself.
However i think that every new member should be given some kind of pack:
a membership card
a letter of welcome
minimum one manifesto (better five for friends and family)
ditto local manifesto
and even if possible a small piece of merchandise

this is not a return to the tufty club, blue peter or any other kids club. but i feel that it would assist people to feel part of us.it would cost us nothing, as a new member is just that (unplanned income)and the party still gets 50% of first years subs
I know there have been a lot of gripes regarding our website and i can agree with most of them, but to me the most heinous is the amount of info we give others about our uk coverage
we should set up immediately an e-mail address and web page (just generic but with consituency name and a couple of local facts etc for each parliamentary seat). if we have no party organisation in this area redirect the emails to the regional organiser.we need to fill the regional pages until we have complete coverage it is humiliating to look at the NW region with only 2 websites(yes i know there are more but not on our shopwindow) i feel sure we must have somebody with both the technical skills and the ears of somebody at HO to do this.i feel these are no cost (unless you count the poor IT volunteer) suggestions that would show a massive boost to our image and profesionalism.

Well done for joining cookie65 I agree with your analysis, I’m afraid change within Ukip is a slow progress.

Please look at the lechlade thread there are people within Ukip that want change like the ones you say.

Hi cookie.

Keep your suggestins coming. We desperately need people like you to kick those at the top and come up with ways to increase visibility and improve 'customer service'.

What sort of merchandise did you have in mind? - A mug? A Godfrey Bloom fridge magnet? A fruitcake?

I think a pen would be a good idea, as it is useful, and cheap to post.

Car stickers. Free advertising.

I ordered 4 for my wheelie bins, but they never arrived.

Matt, Richard North keeps saying refuse collection works under EU rules ... I'm sure they don't allow UKIP stickers!

pens, stickers or a badge would be great.
but the main point is manifestos
any direct sales organisation spends a lot of money on recruiting salesmen and then offers them free training during this one days training you have one person teaching upto 20 trainees.
each trainee is fired up but also worried they will not be able to reach the target .
not to worry, the trainer explains you can practise on family and friends everyone has 5-10 people that they can sell to so there is your first £1000 commision
this is great for the trainer as in one day he makes commision on 20x5 sales.
It is also great for us as anyone who has joined the party has read our message and endorsed it with his own money and is probably at their most enthusiastic.
new members should be asked to pass manifestos to friends and family and to answer any queries they can (20,000x5=100,000)!
