Petrina:
email: All of you in the NEC will know that I have received a number of highly offensive and inaccurate emails from the Deputy Leader of our party. I do not have any idea how anyone who believes in this party to propose for the next leader anyone who could resign over a few emails. See this: http://www.lechladegroup.org.uk/petrina.html We must have a strong leader and I do not know who is standing but there is one thing that I do know and that is anyone who can undermine this party and resign just before the conference Quote:
See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petrina_Holdsworth she resigned a few days before the party conference. If something is wrong and it needs to be put right and you just happen to be the Party Chairman then you see to it. You do not resign a few days before the conference and tell the world. There are many things wrong with this party and it will take a long time to sort things out BUT anyone who "RUNS AWAY" when the going gets tough (Patrina) should not even be in the running for the leadership. I do not know who should be leader. I do care about this party. I know that PATRINA has run away once when she was party chairman and I believe that this party deserves a real leader. |

It's something to consider, but not a showstopper for me.
I hope we have at least 3 people running and hope for more. I have an idea who I want to be leader, but the more people throw their hats in the ring, the better for me. That's why I was peeved that we are trying to put people off with a 500 pounds barrier.

MH,perhaps you showing up here after all this time means that you actually know something about what was going on back then.
Thats the way it looks anyway. How do you know that she didn't fight it in any way that she could? You say you would fight until you were sacked, thats not really smart is it,because later on when running for the Leadership people like you would be all over her saying she was sacked from her last job and so on. I don't believe that you can say that you would not have resigned if in her situation. How much pressure was she under? How much abuse had been aimed at her? Are you saying you are smarter and more brave than she is? I doubt very much that you are. The way I see it is like this, she was in there batting for the Members and UKIP until it all went wrong or pear shaped, then, she did the orofessional thing and resigned her position within UKIP. She is in the clear, unscathed, home and dry,and that shows how good she really is. Relax. |

Sometimes there are good reasons not to continue to fight against something - unless folks know what those reasons are and fully understand them they might usefully withhold judgement. Anyways ... whatever anyone's opinions on the matter, I am sure Petrina has gained something from that episode. All of which is useful experience for a leader, methinks. P.S. I do wish Petrina had attended the conference though - then she may have become aware of how much support she had and still has. |

Hello Tony
Received alternative web-site this morning, well done! It does behove members, not to indulge in rancour, moreso personal abuse, every ones motive, some what subjective. The whole essence of UKIP, should be bottom up, democracy, one individual, one vote: "Freedom is the frredom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows".
