Petrina had no choice but to resign.

Resigning is an honourable thing to do. Surely we wish more public figures resigned?

Yes on principle but not to harm the party in the week leading up to the party conference.

In politics you need to be a team player. It is impossible to agree with everyone all the time and you have to take this into account when taking on senior positions within a political party.

It is essential to remain loyal to the party at all times and work entitrely for its benefit not your own silly pride.

I lost alot of respect for her when she failed to complete her responsilbities at the party conference

That's at least one vote so far for Nikki

There is, I think, an enormous difference between working through some differences with others within a cohesive team, than trying to maintain your probity whilst being misled (apparently) by the leaders of that team.

Personally, I'd have used 'integrity' over 'silly pride' in the above Nikki.

I'd much prefer ALL candidates to talk about their own views and strengths than to kick off discussions aimed at 'dissing' the others. Oh well.....

(edit) Anyway - you've chosen to run so good luck to you. May the best person for UKIP win.

I don't think Petrina resigning just before the conference harmed it as much as litigation by one member against others in the UKIP "team".
