Default Get the Basics Right!

I recently noticed that the date on my membership card expired last month, though I have not once been contacted by the party with regards to renewing my membership. I immediately emailed head office to confirm that my membership had infact expired so I could go about renewing it, but 2 days later I still have had no reply!
It occurs to me that there could be many others like myself that have inadvertently forgotten to renew their membership, and if head office are not bothering to remind people then our membership is going to suffer.
To be taken seriously as a political party we still have major problems. Getting the basics right such as membership renewals has to be a priority or the major issues will never get resolved.

Hello Sandy, from another Sandy

Welcome to the forum. I agree with you, but things are occuring at a National level in regards to the Membership Database.

Do you have the local branches/organisers details? I know we're not that strong back in Scotland but obviously that just makes it more important that we keep in touch with those members we have.

From what I know every party has problems like these, I know we do.

But lets face it, what party is gonna divert campaign funds to deal with beaucracy!

It is exactly for this reason it is so important that HQ sends out monthly to each branch an upto date list of members etc. After a hiatus of 6 months we are now getting the list again, at least for the last 3 months.
As a result I am able to welcome new members and contact members whose membership is coming up for renewal.
At branch level membership has to be a priority.

Ashford folks were beginning to get to grips with renewals.
It is cheaper to make one 'phone call than it is to send out reminders.

Unfortunately it seems the SW office will take care of things with volunteers which so far is not working. Due to a lack of volunteers it will not be operational during this Easter break - one of our busiest times.
