Nigel Farage - or am I thinking of a potential News of the World expose to get UKIP some tabloid coverage?

Why is there any reason for it to get dirty, Petrina? Am at a loss, I must say, as to why me saying what my requirements for leader are should be so offensive to you?

As for my boyfriend, he doesn't even get a vote let alone be a candidate!

Rusty Lee...still men for me in general! Not that it's anyone's business about my love life - I don't go round asking you lot if you're still having sex do I.

I hope there will not be a repeat of the NEC election. Keep the campaign clean and steer clear of spreading rumours! May the best man or woman win!

I will wait for the candidate's stated aims before deciding who to vote for. I have my eye on a couple of them!

Default News of the World deliberately targeting Fiberals and UKIP?

Basildon Boy wrote earlier in this thread: Nigel Farage - or am I thinking of a potential News of the World expose to get UKIP some tabloid coverage?

My reply: The allegations printed in the News of the World about Nigel and the other lady won't do him one bit of harm electorally - if that is what the newspaper was intending. Most News of the World readers will probably hope that he enjoyed himself. There is nothing to suggest that the claims the newspaper made are true anyway and Mr. Farage has denied them.

I notice that the News of the World gave a generous amount of space to the Oaten (Liberal 'Democrat') scandal a couple of months back. So they (the News of the World) have now - in a short space of time - had a go at the Fiberal 'Democrats' and UKIP. Is there a theme developing here? Not that I'm suggesting that the News of the World newspaper is deliberately having a go at opponents of Blair. But it's a fact that the News of the World hasn't had a go at a Labour MP or MEP for quite a while now - if it ever has done.

The police of the Murdoch 'papers is to oppose the euro and EU Constitution - and all credit to them for that. But they still all generallly back Labour.

I understand that now Oaten can't be leader, he's happy to settle for number 2......

Think about it....

I voted here for Nigel Farage, even though I don't have a leadership vote. He is by far the best candidate. If UKIP is serious about getting out of the "Europe" mindset and INTO phpbb_trying to get elected members of the House of Commons where the real power to change the EU rests, then it will need a leader like him.

He can think on his feet, he has learnt about party politics, and he knows about policy. If he were leader then things could change. Anyone else would look like Fred Karno! http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sherwoodtimes/karno.htm
