Isn't it about time it changed? I personally think the pound is a pretty terrible logo to have. It was topical when there was the whole keep the pound movement (I know it's still going strong, in fact it won) but it gives the impression of UKIP being some sort of ultra-Thatcherite Tory break-off, when surely UKIP aren't?
Can't really think of any alternatives though. How about a lion or something? |

The pound sign logo does come across subconcously as single issue as in keep the pound and reject the euro.
You could have the lion however would it be the English pussy cat taimly lying down or Scotlands lion rampant. (Tounge in cheek) Perhaps a picture of myself would get alot of women voters ![]()

The logos of all the political parties are worse than that used by UKIP  . The only exception to this, in my view, is the English Flag used by the English Democrats :P .

The importance of a logo is instant recognition.
In terms of its original idea it is still valid because at any time some idiot politician will say the Euro is best. However, having spent so much time on the logo it would be folly to change it. People understand that it is the symbol of the anti-EU Party. We are now trying to tell people that we are much more than that. Hence, in our local election leaflets we have used the logo, but nowhere in the text have we mentioned the EU. We have concentrated on local issues. |

So, what happens when the big three do the old switcheroo and start actually selling and pushing the EU again because we dropped the subject?
Maybe if we start in on them they can just say it wasn't important enough for us to put it in our Local Election leaflets so dont go on about something that you dropped. Imagine that eh? ops: |

We should always have self-government (thus anti-EU) at our core. However, there are times when we should ease of on the EU pedal. Local elections are one of them.

Local elections, we should barley talk about it. It's not the right place and makes us look silly.
EU elections and a portion of the General elections, then damn right we should go to war on it. In between we should still fight campaigns too.

I think MK is right....the majority of local election material should concentrate on local issues though I am sure it is possible to just add a footnote at the end explaining that we are still fighting for the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union at a national level.....whilst contesting local elections on local issues...... |
