socialism
noun [u]
the set of beliefs which states that all people are equal and should share equally in the wealth of the country, or the political systems based on these beliefs
Quote:
Socialism is any economic system in which the means of production are owned and controlled collectively or a political philosophy advocating such a system. This control may be either direct, exercised through popular collectives such as workers' councils or community councils, or it may be indirect, exercised on behalf of the people through the State. A primary concern of socialism (and, according to some, its defining feature) is social equality and an equitable distribution of wealth that would serve the interests of society as a whole.[

Yes several aspects do. Working Time Directive, health & Safety issues.

Find me someone that disagrees with the working time directive?

Do you not realise this is the way they are convincing the public.

Of course, by mis-management and socialism

Are you trying to tell me Labour are socialist
I had lost this thread - local election activity - and then forgot it! I have just almost completed a reply and lost the connection. So briefly - by comparison

Yes, I am telling you that New Labour - and even more so the EU - are socialist. Not completely traditional but view the end game, tradition in respect of

High taxation
Centralisation of control
Increased public service employees
Reduction in civil rights
Diminuation of freedom of speech.

The area of nationalisation is clouded by the EU Directives on state owned monopolies. I happen to believe that in the case of the UK the directive are applied to undermine the independence/strength of the UK to make absorption easier.

As did the selling off of the UK Gold Reserves at bottom dollar, not such a prudent Chancellor at all. He then went on to use some 60% of the proceeds to buy euros.

If you are still in business then you should be aware of the diasterous effects on the transport industry of the WTD. Both self employed drivers and logistics companies reeled under its effect. TG&W Union last year estimated the cost TO THEM at £250 million (& no I cannot give you a thread) in terms of man hours spent in negotiations alone with employers. Logistics companies are contending with hugely increased overheads, shortage of drivers and who do you think is paying for this ? Not the Government that is for sure.

What. by increasing costs - direct and indirect :!:
Apparently another failure of HM Opposition to get this point over. Apparently.

If you keep over intellectualising in Lechlade you are missing it.

I do, if it takes the choice away from the worker, aswell as the employer.
