I know Kernow why don’t we have a billboard campaign, we could have 50 billboards around the county telling people how evil the EU is  "Oh didn’t we have a billboard campaign at the last election"

I wish I had thought about telling people about the EU then I suppose that would make me Smart 8) 8)

[quote="B.A.Ware"] "Oh didn’t we have a billboard campaign at the last election"

The billboards in the GE just said "Vote UKIP" they didn't explain why!
If you had listened to Trever Coleman at "Lexdrum" you would have heard a completely different "Billboard Campaign" explained. It was quite obvious from the start that the Lechlade "Group" are against it and as all those controlling this forum are from the Lechlade group I don't know why I or anybody else bothers to even post on the subject!

Do you want to see some censorship Kernow, because you're getting on my nerves. I'm not even in the LG anymore.

This forum has entertained the incessant whining all too often. Other people have different opinions, live with it.

I did listen to some of Trevor Colman’s presentation but had to leave due to my lift having to get back but I have seen the full transcript and yes it is slightly different message than just leave the EU but the underlying tone is just the same negative message that re-enforces us as a single issue protest party.
I can’t understand you billboard people on one hand you say the Billboard campaign worked at the EU elections and on the other you say it didn’t at the general election.

If Trevor Colman can compare the EU election results with the General election results (which he did in his presentation) that says everything to me, no political analyst worth his salt would ever dream of comparing them.

Even you country folk must be able to deduce something from the turnouts at the different elections 38% turnout at the EU Elections and a 61% turnout at the general election, its not rocket science is it.

I am part of the Lechlade group, note I didn’t say member because there are no members, it is not a club that you can join, it is not a cabal it is just a group that anyone can come along and be apart of if they want, they can contribute as little or as much as they want.
Because I am part of this group I get no special favours on this forum, I have had topics Locked, posts deleted/snipped and I have had disagreements about these with the moderators but in the end I have had to accept their judgment(even though they were wrong )

So to imply that the lechlade group somehow controls this forum is nothing short of ludicrous :?

Reading the posts on this forum made me very wary of sticking my head above the parapet and there seem to be no shortage of people willing to shoot it off should I in any way question "perceived truths". It does however seem to me that the average UKIPForum Poster believes the Leadership is incompetent at best and a Tory Conspiracy at worst. If you take the view that the leadership are all failed Tories, which seems to be the case, then you can't expect them to be competent, if they were competent then they would still be in the Tory Party, still MP's and be looking forward to returning to power at the next General Election. However, they are the leadership elected by the UKIP Membership so rather than sniping all the time why not help them instead off pulling them down.

What is Lechlade actually achieving? If the meetings are not to influence policy then what are they for? Do they raise money for the party? Do they generate external publicity for the party? Do they bring in NEW Members? Do Lechlade Group door knock in elections? Alternatively, is the Lechalde Group a meeting in a pub putting the world to rights by giving it a good talking about? I have been to enough of them to know they might make you feel good at the time but ultimately they don’t achieve anything!

Sorry if this makes me seem stupid but I joined UKIP to fight the European Union. If pushed I am probably a Liberal Conservative Socialist in my leanings, so that makes me completely mixed up!

Lechlade has always been about supporting the present leadership whilst assisting where possible.

Lechlade Group meetings are activist meetings, to connect activists. If you doubt it has achieved anything, it has achieved websites for many UK Independence Party branches, it has raised funds, raised awareness, created debate and organised efforts.
