Agreed! nobody has said drop it ! they just say don't keep on talking about it! which in the end is the same thing! Leading up to the last GE none of the three main political parties mentioned the EU, so is it best for UKIP to take the same approach to win seats?

Correct none of the three main political parties talked about the EU, do you really think that will change at the next election.

I’ve got this great idea we will put 50 billboards around the country on the edge of cities(so no one that lives within the cities will see them) explaining to the cost of the EU.
Come the next election when Labour promise tax cuts, a better NHS and Freedom for Schools, the electorate will say to themselves I know are life is harder because of the EU so we will vote a party in that will takes out of the EU but promises us nothing else. Don’t think so

Come on Kernow wake up and smell the coffee.

Ps I can guarantee non of the Lechlade group want to be politicians, they just want what you want but we think we need a different strategy to achieve the goal we all desire, I can guarantee you I would rather spend more time with my family than fighting this cause if I didn’t have to

Kernow,

Perhaps I failed to make myself clear.
1) I want to leave the EU
2) I think we should talk about leaving the EU, but as a means not an end.
Ie I thought the pensioner's leaflets were a brilliant example.
3) However we need other policies because a) one issue parties are never successful b) the country has other problems like letting murderers out to kill again that need solving.

Our policy on the EU is a good thing, but very few people in the UK vote purely based on the EU. We must accept that reality.
Do you agree with the statement :-
"very few people in the UK vote purely based on the EU" ?

Of course we want other policies and I'm sorry if you and others on this forum thought that wasn't my view. I know a political party cannot be a one issue party! What I am worried about is people giving the "Impression " that we ought to water down our stance on the EU!

The reason in my opinion that people don't consider the EU an issue in a GE is because we stand alone trying to get our message across when the three main parties aided and abetted by the National media refuse to talk about the EU! If "Joe Public " knew what we know UKIP would have a landslide victory! That is why I think we must "Hammer" the EU message home! and in my opinion the " Bill Board " campaign is a good start!

You don't think we have been hammering the issue for sometime now?

Most people do dislike the EU. However, I don't ever see them seeing it as the be all and end all. We can shout about it until the cows come home and the only thing it might do, is push a few people towards the fake EUsceptics in the Tories.

I agree with this analysis 100%.
We don't have any mps and at the moment we never will.
Perhaps we should consider a change (not about policy on the EU) in how we sell ourselves ? Otherwise we will have a U.S.E !

Apart from miracle show stopping policies that nobody else has ever thought of! What would you suggest to make "Joe Public" aware of how serious a danger to Britains Nation state the EU is?
