Default Who's responsible for UKIP's defence policy?

It doesn't seem to have made the Telegraph web site yet, but today there's a review by Max Hastings of an interesting sounding book detailing examples of defence over-spending, "Lions, Donkeys and Dinosaurs: Waste and Blundering in the Armed Forces", by Lewis Page (no relation).

Surely an issue for a low tax party doing a policy review.

Doubtless this issue will also come up in the forthcoming book from the Taxpayers' Alliance, though probably in less detail.

I'm not sure about who sets the policy but Gerard Batten is the Defence spokesperson.

With the amount of reading, thinking and talking required, I maintain MEPs do not have the time to be policy formulators.

Also they are not in a position to comment speedily to the media on breaking stories.

That's why I think we need UK-based people for policy forming and for media.
