It doesn't seem to have made the Telegraph web site yet, but today there's a review by Max Hastings of an interesting sounding book detailing examples of defence over-spending, "Lions, Donkeys and Dinosaurs: Waste and Blundering in the Armed Forces", by Lewis Page (no relation).
Surely an issue for a low tax party doing a policy review. Doubtless this issue will also come up in the forthcoming book from the Taxpayers' Alliance, though probably in less detail. |

With the amount of reading, thinking and talking required, I maintain MEPs do not have the time to be policy formulators.
Also they are not in a position to comment speedily to the media on breaking stories. That's why I think we need UK-based people for policy forming and for media. |
