Bloody magic. A couple of hundred squid for doing sod all really. The fact head office didn't want to know is disturbing to me though. You would have thought they would jump at such freebies.

I haven't really pushed it with them to be honest, but they didn't respond to the Google request to validate their mailing address, so I used my own instead and put Malcolm down as the new recipient.

It might be a good idea to keep it out of the general money flow and use it to assist specific projects like the printer, by-elections etc.

Anthony is there any way I can set up my PC's browser - Mozilla firefox - so that when someone types in google - searchukp comes up.

That way people who use my PC have to use it - which seems fair they don't have to use my PC.

Yep - go to http://www.searchukip.co.uk/, in firefox click "bookmarks" - "bookmark this page", then click bookmarks again and right click the new searchukip bookmark and select "properties" and put "google" in the keywords box.

If someone is being lazy and just types google in the browser bar then it will go to Search UKIP, however if they type the whole URL - www.google.co.uk - then it will still go to google. Keywords don't override browser behaviour (sadly).

You could set Seach UKIP as your home page - options, general, homepage: http://www.searchukip.co.uk/ , and count on human laziness to prevail!

Good on you David for using Firefox, the better browser!
