Alan Bown is putting up good cash prizes

I think your e-mail list of members will be more up to date than mine so would you please post the following which I am sending to SW Chairmen.

As you know from the Conference & the Independence News, Alan Bown is putting up good cash prizes, £1,000, £500 & £250 for a speaking competition. the closing date given was January 20th but I find that I only have 4 entries from the South West as of today. Would you please contact anyone in your branch who you think has a good speech in him or her and tell them to phone or e-mail their applications to me so I can arrange the heats.

I am asking John Kelly to do this direct to his e-mail list but that will only cover those on e-mail.

see the thread posted on this forum under "public speaking competition". North East Heat will be on March 25th and North East RO is accepting entries up to March 4th.

I've put in for this. The prizes are fantastic.

I believe there are also some trips to Brussels thrown in as booby prizes.
