UKIP have yet to learn the LibDem black art of figure minipulation - you don't say 2.2% - you give the actual number of votes - and then mention the % increase on 2001.

ok ... ill take that challange
UKIP who got just over 600,000 votes and came forth in comparision to the liberal democrates who came third with nearly 6,000,000 votes the liberal democrats having almost 10 times the amount of votes in comparision to UKIP during the 2005 election UKIP had an increase in vote share by 0.7% in comparission to 3.8% by the lib dems UKIP will have to get 10 times as many votes to come anything other than forth. another interesting point to note is that UKIP spent more during the 2005 election than the Liberal democrats spent in 2001 ...... with a much lower result for the money spent |

Oh Dear - Scot Girl - figure manipulation to show a positive result!
UKIPs vote increased by 220,000 votes compared to the 2001 General Election result. So UKIP increased its vote by 55% compared to its 2001 resuly - receiving 618,000 votes and coming 4th. Spin the figures so the message sounds positive! |

with a raise of just 0.7% over the previous GE and 2.2% of the vote with no MP's in westminster you can put all the spin on it you want but the figues are not good , especially after how well UKIP did in the EU elections last year quite a drop in support
here is some further figures for you the SNP stood in 59 seats and got 412,267 so thats an average of 6987 approx votes per seat they stood in i couldnt find how many seats UKIP stood in but they did lose 451 deposits so even just on this numer ukip got approx (and it is lower than this) 1370 votes per seat they stood in so on a seat basis the SNP did over 5 times better per seat (on average) if anyone has the exact number of seats UKIP stood in and not the 451 lost deposits can you please post there is spinning to make the message positive and there is glossing over the results to pretend things arnt that bad |

Do we have any planning experts who know why oil storage depots can be built where people work and live? Today's fire has shown that it is a huge risk.
Is this still the rule? If so UKIP could issue a media release calling for the rule to be changed. John Page |

Conservatives demanded last night that the inspectors' powers be abolished and described the fines as "outrageous". Can't see any sign of a release on the UKIP site. I appreciate that the Telegraph might not have quoted us, but wouldn't it have been helpful for us to get an announcement out there? It should be a popular position! John Page |

What ****** me off is the attitude from the leadership that either a) Press releases don't matter or b) We are releasing plenty.
There is no excuse for it. It is deliberate.

"scotgirl" is one or more hostile posters who jumps quickly to the defence of the Lib Dems in another thread.
It is trying to divert this thread INTO phpbb_irrelevancies. Best ignored in my view. And should we be discussing strategy in the full gaze of someone like that? John Page |
