I think one way of spreading UKIP around, is by publishing a Monthly newspaper which talks about the latest on UKIP ,Youthkip and issues in the UK.
Other Parties like the BNP, have a monthly paper (Freedom) and The SWP have the Morning Star, which is weekly or daily. |

It bugs the hell out of me that other parties seem to make a lot better use of their cash than UKIP do.
We have a reasonable amount of members, so what's the beef. Why do we seem to underperform with things like this?

I think it would be a good idea, but I would prefer a weekly if we could afford it, but it would be no good just filling it with old news gleaned from other newspapers, we get enough old news on UKIP.ORG. We would need proper experienced reporters covering all things that are applicable for our cause. Of course it will never happen, still it's nice to add something else to UKIPs wish list!

Also, why not a for sale and wanted column ? Why get rid of your unwanted items on Ebay when you can flog them to other UKIPeeps and contribute a bit to party funds ? John Youles http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ind-uk/ - the discussion list exclusive to UKIP members. |

John,
Fully accept that it is expensive. However, we have to work smarter and harder if we are to really push this party forward. The producers of the Newsletter could, conceivably, deliver it to the ROs who could then arrange for it to be taken to branches. In areas where there are no branches (ie areas of Scotland, NE England) then the usual postal delivery could take place. However, where there are branches we have to go to the trouble and expense to mail out our own newsletter so why not send the party one with it. There are two advantages - much reduced cost, and improved perception of UKIP by members as they will see that we are "joined up" not disparately pulling our own ways. Thoughts? Alex |

Weekly newspaper would be brilliant, monthly more practical. At least some of the cost could come from savings by not producung the glossy Independnence News.
I also agree that if it was staffed properly it should be able to get advertising to coverat least some of it's costs. If you look at market segmentation then I'm sure the Stair lift people would want to get INTO phpbb_the act, also incontinece pads, viagera, funeral cost plans, etc would all find a natural market in the sort people who would read a monthly UKIP Newspaper. Not much call for UKIP Births or Mariages but a Deaths Column could probabkly get well used. |

I would subscribe to a weekly or monthly paper if it helped UKIP.
