In Brent, we just have a green box with no lid, though when I put papers I usually put them in a shopping bag to protect them

And exactly why do you think all Council's are forcing recycling on us all?

The EU is shutting down most landfill sites.

Each area is only allowed a certain amount of waste.

For every tonne of waste above this limit your council will be fined - this fine will be added onto your council tax.

The more Council's recycle - the smaller the fine - the lower your council tax.

Chuck your recyclable waste in the bin if you want - and then struggle to pay your council tax bill!

You are going to have to pay big bucks if you want to sit on your backside and not worry about your waste.

All very funny the news story at the head of this thread - but look at the bigger picture!

Perhaps, like letting Turkey in, helping the EU make itself hated, by raising our taxes to stupid levels, is the only thing that will shock this country INTO phpbb_reclaiming it's independence.

Seriously, unless people feel the pain, it doesn't look like they will wake up.
