Default Petrina's first email

This is the email that sparked off the row with Mike Nattrass. Notice how it is much longer than the one that appeared in the paper.

This is the truncated reply from Mike Nattrass that appeared in the paper. I don't have the full version yet.
Quote:
From: Mike Nattrass
To: Petrina Holdsworth

"Petrina, when you take your swipes at MEPs you should first understand what you are saying. You suffer from a blind ignorance of the facts and refuse to understand even when your nose is pushed in it. We are expected to attend Parliament, make speeches at 10pm, leave our businesses and families to fly backwards and forwards for UKIP and then look forward to a load of c*** from a chairman who does not even try to understand."

Petrina's email looks even more reasonable and well-meant in the long version. Makes Nattrass look even more insulting and self-serving.

Presumably GLW is Greg Lance-Watkins??? I and probably most genuine UKIP supporters/activists have no interest in the destructive tendencies of this individual and I have to wonder why Petrina has taken an interest in him and implicitly supporting him when he helped to undermine the party so publicly. I won't repeat his despicable statements. If it really is Greg she is referring to (and I hope there is some other GLW person or organisation) that can perhaps partially explain though not justify the 'edited?' email from Natrass. "Don`t worry I don`t intend to intervene any more" also suggests a background to his email which is not available that I know of. I hold no brief for Natrass but have no real knowledge about him other than media reports available. But the key to all this may be Holdsworth and Lance-Watkins. I always wondered where Holdsworth came from and have never seen any explanation (not that anyone seriously asked as far as I know). I it would be great to know her history in the party which I have never seen anywhere - perhaps I haven't looked enough!

I took that at face value: Greg's been attacking the Lechlade group, and Petrina was concerned about people getting upset and walking away. There's nothing else in the message you can get from it, [SNIPPED - personal sniping is unwelcome]

Regarding Greg: it's far too easy to shoot the messenger, especially if he is out of breath, smelly from months on the road, and generally unkempt (or thus it would have been in classical times). Thus it's not surprising that that's been the recourse of political lightweights throught history.

So is GLW saying things that UKIP doesn't want to hear? If so, are they true? Nobody gets marks in politics for believing their own rhetoric, only for doing and saying the right thing at the right time.

Petrina Holdsworth might be having second thoughts. Mike Nattrass is a dogluver!! He can't be as bad as portrayed!

What is GLW saying about the Lechlade Group? I didn't know we were arguing with him. I've not met the man, but have heard many tales of him, not one complementary. I hope we're not being drawn INTO phpbb_somebody else's spat.

It was sometime ago, and was between the Lechlade Group, as in the core group that started it, and GLW over Direct Democracy proposals.

Default Petrina

Was I alone in thinking that the loss of Petrina as Chairman is incredibly sad? Not only was she absolutely committed to the cause, she was not an MEP or tied up with the internal politics of the MEPs in Brussels.

Mike Nattrass' inexcusable behaviour makes his position as Dep Leader untenable. How long before the NEC take action? Or perhaps our favourite adoptive Brummie will do the right thing, and recognise that he needs to stand aside for the good of the Party, both publicly and internally.

Unlikely.

She hasn't left the party. I'm guessing we haven't heard the last of her.
