Hence my comments about the dysfunctional UKIP leadership at the time I decided to quit .... poor leaders choose people with less talent than themselves, that makes them feel safe, they cling on to what power they have and the spiral continues downwards.

Good leaders choose people with greater talent to complement their own skills and to learn from them, and the spiral continues upwards.

This is another very sad day for ukip - there have been so many over the years it's amazing the party still exists. But the same faces remain to occupy the positions of power. Perhaps that is where the dysfunctionality lies.

Taking all of the above INTO phpbb_account - What are Nattrass' possibilities of taking over the "top slot". Realistic?

Keeping the thread on Petrina before the Axeman cometh;

If the man from the EUanorak forum is on "track"
Quote:
Petrina did compromise,accepting that Natrass could stay on untill after the conference this W/end,to maintain the FACADE of political unity
So Petrina is quite happy to go along with a facade,rather than have clear water open debate at conference i.e TRUTH,then when doesnt get the sugar coated part of the deal is also quite happy to blow the conference wide open to all sorts of leadership skuldugery!

Is there any wonder why only 50% of the electorate have any time for politcians?

Petrina tried to operate in a reasonable professional manner.

Nattrass, clearly is a loose cannon and is not a "party builder". This crisis was entirely of his making and he has caused the party significant damage.

Roger did not intervene to deal with the behaviour of Nattrass early enough. He then compounds his error by not adhering to the agreement he made with Petrina. Sadly he is clearly not in a strong enough physical state to tackle Nattrass and therefore must step down as Leader.

UKIP has reached a cross roads. The continuing ill discipline amongst some of its "Leadership team" has brought about this mess. If the Leadership/NEC recognise the error of their ways and 1) discipline Nattrass and 2) agree that unprofessional behaviour has no part in UKIP, then the party maybe saved.

But the odds are staked against us and with the funds drying up, memberships being cancelled and our vote percentages falling, the latest Leadership crisis could be a terminal nail in our coffin. Hope I am wrong.

Nah. It is just another hiccup along the way. There will be more, but the party will survive.
