Default Survey suggests Conservatives 'did not play race card'

politics.co.uk

Quote:
The report also found that while UKIP mentioned immigration and asylum more in its literature than the BNP, the tone of the two parties on the issues were notably different. UKIP took a similar line to the major parties by emphasising 'controlled immigration' while the BNP used much more emotive language, particularly regarding asylum seekers.
That first line is damning and it is one of the reason UKIP is now failing. We all know the massive amount of focus on immigration was wrong.

It wasn't the amount of focus that was wrong. It was what you said.

The UKIP position on immigration is no different to the Conservative position. Given that, why should people vote for you rather than the Tories, seeing as they actually have a chance of winning?

UKIP does need to keep the focus on immigration, but you need to say no more immigration and no more asylum seekers, at all.

People don't like to vote for the BNP because we're "racist extremist thugs". So if UKIP were to oppose all further immigration (of whatever race), then your support would rise enormously.

UKIP should become more like the Front National (Le Pen) in France, which allows non-whites as members (so cannot be called racist), but wants to stop all further immigration.

Why "And binned"?

I think most UKIP members want UKIP to be non-racist, anti-immigration. That is what would win you more votes.

You should be advicing your own party leader.

I don't want the BNP to become anti-racist.

I was just saying what would get UKIP the most votes.

Binned because the BNP are the party of Zero immigration and nil asylum. It's your little niche and you are welcome to it.

If UKIP go that way, then it will become like the BNP and will never win a seat, not even a Micky Mouse EU seat.

That might be the case anyway if certain things don't change, but I'd rather have a faint glimmer of hope, rather than none.

Surveys consistantly show that the majority of British people are opposed to accepting any more asylum seekers, and want less than 10,000 immigrants per year.

The reason these people don't vote BNP: 1) It's past 2) Percieved to be riddled with thugs/criminals 3) Openly racialist 4) No big donations 5) Anti-racist groups like Searchlies 6) Media coverage 7) Working class 8) Percieved to be a Single-issue party 9) Leader has criminal record and facing racial hatred charges

The BNP aren't racists, but they are racial realists. They don't accept non-whites as members.
