I've said before : we effectively have TWELVE MPS. The electorate (most of) won't know or care that they're EURO's. They can pass themselves off quite easily as locals because they are. This must be mentioned at Conference - anybody going to put a motion in ?

No,but you are an intelligent man, sufficiantly politically experienced & technically best placed to lead up a Centre-Left group within the party, working alongside the Lechlade Group such an outfit would maintain momentum & with solidarity in numbers mount pressure on the leadership or NEC to take seriously all the implementations necessary to turn UKIP INTO phpbb_a genuine party with ambitions of being the 4th way in British politics.

UKIPers who have a genuine desire to be a sustainable party outfit must not delude themselves that the leadership will do everything for them,if the notion of a Centre-Left group is too ideological in its nature then perhaps some sort of alternative UKIP group could be formed but one thing is certain, pressure needs to be consistently applied & one shouldn't dance to the tune of others but make a noise oneself preferably in a group format!

I'm prepared to give you a second chance, discuss it at Lechlade!

Oh dear the cat is out of the bag with regard to the Lechlade (maybe, Libertarian; centre left) group. So the real reason for saying the "BNP in Blazers" brigade are infiltrating UKIP is really a smoke screen for the socialists to infiltrate, starting up your own group;association; UKIPYouth etc. Interesting 8) I think some of the people who are intendng to meet up at Lechlade might drop out now

UKIP is a broad church. Too broad. UKIP needs a coherent set of policies and positions - in other words - a 'brand'. This, of course, will alienate those who do not agree with that brand WHATEVER IT MAY BE (and I make no presumptions). This is a natural part of growth and should not be shirked.

Too true.

Though I still don't go for this left-right stuff.

.......and why i stresed the option of "alternative",what is needed is an ACTION group of somekind that will stimulate the leadership so as not to take ordinary members for granted & allow policy's & research groups to be formulated with urgency!

By my reckoning, not one person has posted a positive response to the National petition which was the big anouncement from HQ & as the time draws nearer will be echoed with all the usual pomp & ra! ra! ra!

Somehow the two elements have to come together, the appointment of a by-election secretary is a good one but other than that, what realy has been done in the last month?

Well, we aren't doing too badly so far. We have formed a Members Association, started YouthKIP, set up UKIP Search, provided an excellent paper on the Direct Democracy policy, organised two mini-conferences and submitted a design specification for the rebuilding of the party website.

And perhaps most importantly, we have pressed for research groups to be established, and these have just had the go ahead today.

I would say that we have been pretty active for volunteers with no authority
