Bit short of time here im late for the gym.
So only a quick reply to your second post for now Britannist. In DNA terms the English are closer relatives to the Danish and Germans than we are to the Welsh. Infact Offa's Dyke presents a clear genetic boundary between our two peoples. The Welsh especially in North Wales do in most cases actually have no Celtic DNA (The Celts originated in Alpine and Central European Region). The Welsh people’s closest relatives are the Basques. Considerable Iberian settlement of Britain occurred before the arrival of the Celts or Saxons. Ill deal with the military implications of Belgium being an independent state in 1940 later among other things. |

nyorks-patriot, I would be interested on what you have to say about this article (www.spearhead.com/0001-jt3.html) and what it describes as the true ancestry of that most 'Celtic' people of the British Isles the Irish.

That is good to hear!
I have often wondered why the Scottish people are so Left-wing nowdays. At one time, Scotland was the most Tory part of the Kingdom! I suppose Mrs Thatcher using them as a sort of giant test laboratory for disasters like the Poll Tax explains a lot! |

Independence Now.
I looked at the article it’s very accurate. The Irish do have more a lot of genes from the native people of the British Isles. The only place the Celts settled in large numbers was in South East England. Red hair for example isn’t a native Celtic trait. It’s a trait that in common in people from the British Isles mostly. The original Celts where brown haired with Alpine features. The whole of the Western British Isles did however have quite a lot of Iberian settlement too. A lot Research I have read recently found that most British people where not originally Dark Haired Iberian people as first thought. Much settlement came direct from the Low Countries and Northern Germany several thousand years ago. It used to be thought men of Iberian stock had built Stonehenge but many new finds disprove this including what looks like one of the most important graves at the site housing a Blond Nordic man. It appears the genius of the Northern European stretch’s back INTO phpbb_pre-history. |

In reply to Britannist.
If Waloonia and had been part of France the BEF and French forces could have deployed at the Crossing to the Eben Emael in Belgium with the 22 Belgium divisions rather than being deployed in totally useless positions in France. They also could have had much better position in the Belgium Ardennes rather than miles away at the River Meuse this would have seriously restricted the German plans and could have changed the course of the war in 1940. On the other point a Greater France would not just start gobbling up the nations of Europe that’s totally irrational. What we need to defeat the EU is a strong Nationalist Greater France ran by a man like Jean Marie Le Pen and his National Front party. |

What a wonderful vision - France ruled by Le Pen and Britain by Griffin! The Entente Cordiale would be very strong then!, eh nyorks-Patriot? :P ![]() |
