ukip kipper i understand what your saying however why didnt the update just point out how the tory voted and then talk about UKIP polices

nope the whole update was just to have a go at another candidite very offputting if you dont compare that to what your own partys polices are

I know what you're saying, Scotgirl. However, there is no point in being half-hearted. If the voting record is pointed out, it needs to be done properly as in the update.

If the entire campaign were focused around the credentials of the Conservative candidate, I would agree with you. This is one press release - it hardly makes the entire campaign a negative one.

The temptation is to simply call him a liar, which he cartainly appears to be. However, it's not hte done thing

Scotty, Go to: www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk and key in on the archive search page; 'Serge Lourie' - he used to be the Lib Dem leader in Richmond. The 3rd item you'll find there begins thus: " Cllr Serge Lourie has angrily accused the Conservatives of lying over the perceived 'black-hole' of £50m..." Although it's not in the archive, the paper's editorial accused he himself of lying a month ago. They were on solid ground.

The people need to know when their MP's are telling outrageous lies, which is the case right here. Yep UKIP should concentrate on the positives for their own case, but a full scale assault on lies is always high on my agenda. I don't see it as negative when you really are exposing how two-faced a liar someone is.

Just like Watchdog expose dodgy traders, I expect UKIP to expose dodgy MP's. Expecially when they are part of an overall bunch of liars on the issue of the EU.

If UKIP were making stuff up or attacking the guy for his perosonal life, then it would be different. In this case I say, keep on putting in the boot.

Oh and did I remember to say that this guy is a liar?
