Default Staffordshire by-election leaflet

One of the issues that we discussed at the first UKIP Pub Conference was the party leaflets. Here is a poor photo of the back of the South Staffordshire leaflet:

Read the first three bullet points.

Does anyone remember what I said in my document about UKIP needing consistent numbers to look credible?

So this leaflet makes three mistakes in the first three points:

1) It claims that we can save £39 million per day firstly, and then changes that to £30 million. Of course the net amount saved is neither. Assuming that we would keep the funding going to the existing EU projects in Britain (such as Wembley!), for the foreseeable future, we would actually save £4.8 Billion, which is £13 million per day. The alternative is to keep the full £14 Billion or so and make thousands of people unemployed.

2) Because UKIP got its numbers wrong, we could only actually afford to raise the pension by £8.60 per week for each of the 10.7 million pensioners using this money.

3) The halving of the council tax is actually to be financed by borrowing money in the first year, if I recall correctly, and is nothing to do with the EU payments.

Anyone seeking to damage UKIP's credibility in the campaign isn't going to have to look very far. We really MUST step up our level of professionalism.

Anthony I’ve seen it I don’t believe it, I thought we were better. But after a disastrous election we put out complete garbage that any half-wit could take to pieces is completely beyond me.

Default Recyclable

Anthony, you should take those leaflets back to whoever in UKIP supplied them and tell them to shred the lot. It's an absolute disgrace to spend money printing rubbish like that without so much as proof reading it.

It seems UKIP need to have some serious reviews of a lot of party functions.

Intbel's Hurst leaflet is far superior. The only fault I've noticed is the double space after the word 'Britain'.

Unless the candidate's name isn't Hurst, of course. :?

That ain't a fault - that is deliberate.
I often use a double space between sentences.
'Tis like a paragraph only not, if that makes sense.

Pleased you like it though, the graphics team, here at Intbel Towers, aims to please.

Oh Dear! My worst fear! could be a slogan

Seriously, this is not good. There seems to be a trait in UKIP for people to keep interests/jobs to themselves. Whoever did this leaflet should be brought to task. I cannot understand why those creating leaflets, not just in UKIP, do not remind themselves that the Press always look at these. Bad leaflets make good copy!

Also, this leaflet makes the wrong emphasis, which is a UKIP failing in my book.

The leaflet talks immediately about withdrawal from the EU and then describes the financial benefits. It would make more impact to show how UKIP could spend more money on education, health, and policing, etc. and save money such as council tax, and then state that this could be brought about by leaving the EU.

I think a lot is the cart before the horse. The cart is the EU weighing the poor old horse down

Also an an leaflet for a byelection it should state how UKIP can directly help with the problems that particualr area has. e.g health provision, education standards, housing development.

One more problem is that we use the same slogan as the ENG DEMS. - Put -x- First.

With the Eng Dems it's Put England First and with us it's Put Hurst First. On those grounds, just going on slogan, I'd have to vote Eng Dem! lol.

Seriously we need to develop some leaflets, generic leaflets, that can be used anywhere without problems. And then some templates for detailed issues.

Anthony I liked yours . . .and Intbel's one on here is good so can you two perhaps do one in collaboration?

Frankly the English Democrats look more professional - what a mess.

Alex is right about the need for generic leaflets - with generic information on them!

I don't really expect us to get very far in South Staffs and this was an excellent opportunity with no other eurosceptic or eurorealist standing.
