Demo alert
This conference "Priorities and Objectives" run by the integrationist Federal Trust and sponsored by the University Association for Contemporary European Studies is scheduled for the eve of Britain's presidency of the ring of stars organisation presumably with the idea of influencing ideas during that spell. It is at Chatham House. 30th June. Numbers of very usual suspects are amongst the speakers: Brendan Donnelly (Fed. Trust), Will Hutton, Sir Brian Unwin (EIB), Peter Sutherland (BP), Prof Bogdanor (Oxford), Lord Brittan, William Keegan (Observer), Prof Iain Begg (LSE), Lord Radice, Lord Patten, Peter Norman (FT), Julie Unwin (Cambridge), Prof Jim Rollo Univ Surrey), plus worthies from the mainland. For further info look at the Fed Trust and/or UACES websites. From the look of it this event deserves a sizeable demo to make the attendees feel awkward, to remind this fellow-travelling shower that a large number of people want none of what they are so enthusiastic about, and to alert the public at large to the fact that UKIP has not gone away. It would seem to me that we need some high profile activities. |
