Those cartoons were great. But they weren't very widely distributed. It is one powerful prong in a manipronged attack.

Every house in Woking had at least two of them.

They are cartoons full stop they were designed to appeal to none voters and they did. They just stayed at home. We should keep are oppositions leaflets and learn from them after all they have had professionals design them and they get the votes.
Learn from your opposition.

We had at least 10 boxes of the cartoons. We went down to head office a few times to pick them up.

How many did you post?

I did about 25 000. I wonder if I had done 0, my vote would have gone up or down.

As Robert Edwards said elsewhere though, leaflets are a small part of what you have to do.

I had a reasonable amount of local media, a bit of radio, town raids, small appearance on T.V.

One area where I did Biscuits pension leaflet did better than the others. I seriously do wonder if our leaflet campaign did us more damage than good.

I thing our PPB was good and the polls showed our vote increasing after that. Maybe because our PPB was much more positive and upbeat, with a bit of humour thrown in.

We leafleted 10 boxes of the cartoons but we put them in a leaflet we had designed and printed with a picture of me and my family on the front showing me as a family man (we were all wearing denim) Head Office told us to only wear suits and ties in any pictures but as it has now proved what do they know anything about running for a General Election!!

Leaflets are only a small part but with no media attention, not being able to get onto local radio and no television (small appearances on television- how did you manage that) We thought the only thing we can do except for knocking on a few doors is to GET THE LEAFLETS OUT.

I do not think that the leaflet campaign could have done any harm, how much good, who knows?

One of the measures I applied after the June council elections was to bar graph all of the enquiries and new members we received In the ward that we stood in and compare it to the other three wards we didn’t leaflet the results were amazing.
Four oaks ward (leafleted) 18 members 40 enquires
Trinity ward (not leafleted) 2 members 7 enquires.
We have leafleted the Trinity ward over this election so it will be a good measure when I get the data if the figures go up, it also tells you where your ukip material has the best effect.

Cartoons are a great idea, if they are done well, in fact they are often the funniest part of Private Eye, maybe they should be kept off the cover though, but sort of stuck in the corners inside leaflets, the front should just have some patriotic image of britian with an EU knife sticking in it and money bleeding out with something like "YOU can stop it!"

We did a leaflet with Great Britain going down an EU drain; we titled it IMPORTANT NOTICE and put no Logos on the front so people had to open it to see what it was about
