I personally would object to large-scale immigration from Eastern Europe, or if a large number of simply ghastly Yanks turned-up on our doorstep because I believe that a country of 60 million people of whom at least 1.5 million are unemployed with a futher 4 million or so with the PC term "economically inactive" applied to them has NO economic need for that scale of immigration if it was being run sensibly which this country isn't at the moment with our pathetically inadequate education and training systems.

But, if we did need any for economic purposes, I would prefer European immigrants because they can settle INTO phpbb_a European country with the maximum amount of social cohesion and the least possible cultural disruption to the existing society. Uncomfortable fact for those blinded to cold reality by the secular religion of PC fascism this may be, but race is a factor which needs to be taken INTO phpbb_account when talking about immigration.

Good points, Independence Now!
But there is no evidence of mass immigration from the Eastern European countries within the EU. The new economic opportunities are being created in their homelands and some industry is moving from here to these reviving economies. Cheaper labour, of course, has a lot to do with it.
But you are right to say we would prefer people from Europe to fill our gaps in the employment sector. We would prefer people with essential skills.
Our own farmers have long relied on labour from that part of the world. Without these people we would have no agriculture to speak of.
Let us be realistic.

Well that is what farmers in my neck of the woods say. Locals just won't get off their posteriors.
The bullsh*t comes in handy!
