No just becasue numerous parties have tried and failed to get the CAP reformed, the Lib Dems are confident they can reform that and a whole lot more.

I think we need some much stonger smelling coffee beans.

Just out of interest, didn't Labour stand with a promise of leaving the EEC in the 1980's?

And didn't they lose misrably?

So the public might just want to stay in then?

Most of the British people are totally ignorant about the EU, what it stands for and it's ultimate goal.

If they were told the truth they would be totally against the EU, but then politicians do not want the British public to know the truth.

It does make me laugh when people say because a party wasn't voted in, that one of the platforms they were standing on was the reason.

If Labour had promised a million quid, house, 7 virgins and all you can eat at big fatties steak house, they still would not have got in because

a) They were LOOONY left at it's worst then. Neil Kinnock, Michael Foot etc etc made them unelectable. (Hence the reason Kinnock went down the unleclected route for the EU)

b) Unilateral Disarmament of our nuclear ditterent, especialy at that point in history. Dear me, how to lose yourself an election in one step. Only the Lib Dems would come out with that kind of policy now!

c) Memories of the winter of discontent were strong in peoples minds, people were not going ot forgive Labour anytime soon!

d) Thatcher was seen as the right person at the right time. It would have been tough to beat her.

e) We were told the EEC was all about free trade, nothing about giving up sovereignty. IE we were lied too!
