Default Godfrey Bloom on Sky News

Observations.

Hostile interview, both the interviewer and the "expert" were against bloom.

Bloom has the argument won. But.....

He lost his temper and looked very uncomfotable. The interviewer brought up the usual cleaning under the fridge comment and he lost it completley.

Not a good interview for UKIP.

Oh and I forgot to say, he blurting out that he got one of his employees pregnant isn't going to help his image at all.

I`m sorry, but Bloom is an idiot. At a time when UKIP should be trying to promote itself ahead of a General Election, and showing the public that it isn`t the right wing, male bastion that the press likes to portray it as, it lets Bloom out in daylight.

The man is a liability. I heard him on Radio 5 this morning and I inwardly groaned at his answers.

Put Farage on or someone else who knows what they`re doing.

Nigel has great confidence in Godfrey and holds him in high regard - they are old mates. I have a feeling Godfrey is being groomed to play a key role in the coming election campaign as one of UKIPs leading spokesmen.

Well, that could either work very well or very badly.

It could only go one way down hill. This is the very time we need shine bringing out our big guns not our big buffoons. Its nice to see Godfrey and Nigel are old chums is that how Godfrey got to top of the selection list.

We have big guns? I think that everyone in our party is pretty much starting from zero recognition amongst the general public.

God, we're turning INTO phpbb_the conservative party II (a royal mess up, with auld friendships governing places). I really am quite depressed about UKIP right now. About two months ago I had soem faith we might oust Knappman et al and install a better leadership, but it came to nought, and now it is all tit-shaped.

If bloom is being groomed for a key role, then I really do fear for our chances. He is so old fashioned in some his ways, it is untrue. One thing you can't do in a T.V interview is lose your cool. He must know he is going to get hit with the fridge comments every time. Why can't he shrug it off as a joke, which is basicaly what it was.

Come on leadership, you are being judged by the membership, not just the public on this election. UKIP is still clearly the only game in town, we need our prominient figures to get a lot more savy with the media.
